Global Translation Initiative: Help Us Reach 30+ Languages
Our volunteer translation programme is expanding rapidly. We need translators, subtitle editors, and cultural consultants to ensure the documentary reaches audiences worldwide.

In the Shadow of Now is a story that belongs to the world. To ensure it reaches the widest possible audience, we are launching an ambitious translation initiative to subtitle the documentary series in over 30 languages.\n\nOur current volunteer translators have already completed work on Arabic, French, Spanish, and Turkish subtitles. We are now seeking translators for Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Bahasa Indonesia, Malay, Swahili, Portuguese, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, and many more.\n\nWhat we need:\n\nTranslators fluent in both English and their target language, with sensitivity to the documentary's subject matter. Cultural consultants who can ensure translations capture nuance and context. Subtitle editors experienced with timing and formatting. Quality reviewers for completed translations.\n\nThis is not just a technical task — it is an act of solidarity. Every language we add extends the reach of these stories to millions more people who need to hear them.\n\nIf you can contribute, please visit our volunteer page or contact us directly. Even partial translations are valuable — our workflow allows multiple contributors to collaborate on a single language.\n\nWe are especially grateful to our Arabic translation team, who completed their work in record time despite many team members being personally affected by the events documented in the film.
